This brass censer has a beautiful hardwood handle which remains insulated from the heat of the censer.  The hinged top is pierced to allow the smoke to rise up, and to keep the charcoal burning brightly.

Natural frankincense resin, sourced from sustainable forests in Tigray Region, Ethiopia.  Frankincense, also called Olibanum, produces a natural fruity, flowery and  slightly pine-lemon fragrance.

Suitable for people with asthma and allergies.

The monks at this monastery make Greek Style incense, which is frankincense resin that has been finely ground and mixed with fragrant oils. The mix is hand-cut into small “grains” which are left to dry. Clay powder is added mainly to prevent the grains from sticking together.

Features:  Quick-lighting charcoal for the home censer.  Handmade charcoal.

Burn Duration:  Approximately 20-40 minutes, depending on size of charcoal disk.  The disk may be cut into smaller pieces for shorter burn time.

Safety Tips:

• Do not burn incense unattended. Children should not use charcoal unattended.
• This charcoal contains a small amount of gunpowder to help it ignite more quickly. Use caution when igniting your charcoal; a long grill-style lighter is highly recommended. Avoid contact with sparks.
• Keep flammable items away from burning charcoal.
• Empty your charcoal ash regularly, after the ash has cooled completely. As the charcoal and incense were offered in prayer, it is customary to bury the ash in a place where it will not be walked on.
